About Us
Bawsey Bay Watersports is a new and exciting venture run by Les and Steve, who have been operating Hunstanton Kayaks and Hunstanton Watersports on the coast for over 15 years. Located at the picturesque Great Lake within the grounds of Bawsey Estate and Country Park,
Bawsey Bay Watersports offers sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and stand up paddleboard introduction/taster sessions and hire, all under the guidance of qualified instructors. All necessary equipment, including buoyancy aids and wetsuits, is provided.
Les and Steve have some great plans for Bawsey Bay Watersports that they hope to bring to life in the near future, with the aim of providing family-friendly activities in a safe and controlled environment.

Meet the Team
Les Collinson
Hi I’m Les. I started off back in 1982 as a young lad joining the RNLI. My time as a member of the Hunstanton lifeboat crew. I was also a gunner in Territorial Army (TA) Royal Artillery. Then back in 1992 joined the Fire Service as an on-call firefighter with Norfolk Fire & Rescue for 20 years. After retiring I then went back to The RNLI as Deputy launching authority (DLA). I then joined HM Coastguard. So that's a little history about myself. Setting up Hunstanton Kayaks came about after a trip out to Vancouver where i spent time canoeing through many of the great lakes and wonderful wilderness of British Columbia. From there on I was hooked the rest they say is history.
Steve Murfet
Hey, I'm Steve, been into watersports from a very early age whether it's waterskiing, wakeboarding or sailing, I've spent my childhood in the sea with various watersports before gaining my kitesurf instructors qualification and teaching abroad in places like Greece and Egypt. I then set up Hunstanton Watersports which has been going strong for 15yrs where we run kitesurfing and stand up paddleboarding courses, lessons and hire.

Paddleboard/Paddlesports and Kitesurfing Instructor
Lee has been teaching kitesurfing and paddleboarding for the past 10 years, he enjoys being outside and meeting new people.
He loves wakeboarding in his free time and of course kitesurfing, you may even find him on a paddleboard from time to time venturing up one of the local rivers.

Hi, my name is Bekki and I run a music school in Kings Lynn and have been teaching adults and children for over 30 years to play Piano. I booked a kayak and Paddleboard session with Steve and Les many years ago and was immediately hooked! Since then I’ve racked up many miles on the sea, lakes, creeks and rivers, and am passionate about kayaking and encouraging others to enjoy the water safely as much as I do. I’ve been helping to run sessions with Les and Steve at Brancaster and Hunstanton for the last few years and more recently at Bawsey which is a fab location. I’ve taken my FSRT with the BCU and am taking further Paddlesport instructor qualifications to continue my learning and abilities.

My heart, soul and passion is being on the water, I am a RYA windsurfing & sailing instructor, I have been teaching for around 9 years now, I love watching people develop new skills whilst enjoying time on the water.
