Meet the Team

Les Collinson

Hi I’m Les. I started off back in 1982 as a young lad joining the RNLI. My time as a member of the Hunstanton lifeboat crew. I was also a gunner in Territorial Army (TA) Royal Artillery. Then back in 1992 joined the Fire Service as an on-call firefighter with Norfolk Fire & Rescue for 20 years. After retiring I then went back to The RNLI as Deputy launching authority (DLA). I then joined HM Coastguard. So that's a little history about myself. Setting up Hunstanton Kayaks came about after a trip out to Vancouver where i spent time canoeing through many of the great lakes and wonderful wilderness of British Columbia. From there on I was hooked the rest they say is history.

Hi, my name is Bekki and I run a music school in Kings Lynn and have been teaching adults and children for over 30 years to play Piano. I booked a kayak and paddleboard session with Steve and Les many years ago and was immediately hooked! Since then I’ve racked up many miles on the sea, lakes, creeks and rivers, and am passionate about kayaking and encouraging others to enjoy the water safely as much as I do. I’ve been helping to run sessions with Les and Steve at Brancaster and Hunstanton for the last few years and more recently at Bawsey which is a fab location. I am a Paddle UK paddlesport instructor, I’ve also taken my FSRT with the BCU/Paddle UK and am taking further Paddlesport instructor qualifications to continue my learning and abilities.
